Born and raised in downtown Toronto, Harper attempts to meld his traditional toolkit (Trumpet, Upright Bass, Vocals, Rhodes, etc.) into a fresh context. His compositions are filled with nuance, distancing himself from the digital perfectionist sound. With early influences coming from Stevie Wonder and Amy Winehouse, he continues to be inspired by the new generation of innovators, such as Mac Miller and Frank Ocean.
