Parkscapes (Regent Park School of Music)

“Parkscapes” isn’t like any other Kingsway Music Library. In fact, it isn’t like any music library in history. It’s the first to donate the majority of sales, licenses and royalties towards inspiring kids through music education. Every time you sample it, you support the Regent Park School of Music.
Vol.1 was Composed by Frank Dukes and performed by RPSM students, Parkscapes was recorded over 3 days in Toronto using everything from harps, steel pan, organ and even the kids’ voices.
Vol. 2 is the result of a two-day session that saw Matthew Tavares (Producer, songwriter, formerly of BADBADNOTGOOD) teaming up with students at the school, which provides music education to children from Toronto’s high-priority neighbourhoods.
Thank you to the staff and students at RPSM for the chance to collaborate. Samples have always been used to create songs. We hope you’ll use these ones to create change.

Mino
VinnyX
Toronto’s VinnyX began his run like many others, posting samples and XArtistTypeBeat videos to Youtube as a young producer just finding his sound. Soon a young rapper from Florida named Kodak Black took Vinny’s beat from Youtube and made his breakout track “No Flockin”, which went on to be certified double platinum and was also the inspiration for Cardi B’s smash hit “Bodak Yellow”. In a short time Vinny achieved something some producers chase for years.
Since then VinnyX has released two stellar volumes on the Kingsway Library, produced on Lil Skies album “Shelby” which debuted at #5 on Billboard, and continues to release beats and samples on his own. Ever-refining his sound, his forward thinking approach has him always finding fresh and unique vibes - and the next platinum plaque is just over the horizon.

Brandon Leger
Brandon Leger
Brandon Leger’s musical influences are eclectic to say the least - Raised on a healthy portion of dancehall, hip hop and classic rock and then going headfirst into louder and heavier bands like Underoath and Protest The Hero, this might sound like an unlikely origin story for someone who would become a cutting edge sound designer and producer. His open mind and broad palette allows Brandon to pull influences from all of these musical ecosystems, in the pursuit of creating something new and unique.
A multi-instrumentalist, Brandon incorporates pianos, guitars, bass, synths, voices and any other toys or tools into his pieces. Texture and movement are weapons he wields subtlety, with tasteful melodies and implied rhythms weaving in and out. An enigmatic collaborator, Brandon’s upcoming volumes will feature some of Toronto’s best and brightest of his peers.

Daniel East
Daniel East
Daniel East has quickly established himself as a versatile composer, able to develop textures and ideas into compelling, evocative pieces of music. He brings enough musicality to fire the imagination but leaves enough space for people to bring their own voice and character to the samples.
Based in Florida but consistently on the move - Daniel has developed a strong instagram following where he is consistently making samples and beats, as well as producing his own artists - most recently executive producing an EP for Florida artist Daniel Delacour. With Daniel’s prolific output it’s no question he’s one to watch in 2020, with more volumes on the way it’s only a matter of time before he’s stacking gold and platinum records.

Frank Dukes
Frank Dukes
Since Frank Dukes created the Kingsway Music Library in 2011 as a way to share music and collaborate with his producer colleagues, he has risen in the ranks to become one of the most innovative and sought after producers of the decade. A Grammy Award winner, Dukes has worked with the highest echelon of songwriters, artists and musicians, lending his touch to career-defining neo-classics like Drake’s 0 to 100, Camila Cabello’s Camila, Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys and Travis Scott’s ASTROWORLD to name a few.
In this time Dukes continued to create and curate for the library, which quickly became a resource for other hitmakers like Boi1da, Hit-Boy, Vinylz, Murdabeatz and Metro Boomin, among others. Dukes output on Kingsway has slowed due to his extremely high-demand schedule, but he’s still known to put together a volume or two here and there.

Illnght
Illnght
Raised on a healthy mix of classic and and modern music of all genres, Illnght began composing and producing his own music in 2011 after becoming infatuated by the textures and sonic landscape created by Doc McKinney and Illangelo on the Weeknd’s debut “House of Balloons”. He enrolled in Sound Engineering school and began delving further into exploring the space and ambience that establishes musical moods and searching for those unfamiliar veins he could tap into. The result is a musical palette that has more cinematic qualities than the average sample pack. Illnght’s music exists in a psionic space that can conjure up past moods with sonics from the future. Hisa motivation is to make music that is eventually woven into the cultural fabric of time and be the soundtrack to great memories and moments in as many lives as possible.

Juzicy
Juzicy
Hailing from Lisbon Portugal, Juzicy began making music at the young age of 11. Shy and introverted, he often found himself off on his own listening to music on headphones. Beginning first by making Afro house music that could fly at parties he eventually pivoted to rap music after being taken by artists like J Cole, Drake and Kendrick and the producers who were changing the game at the time (Noah “40” Shebib, Frank Dukes, Axlfolie).
With little traditional musical knowledge or background, Juzicy produces by feel first and foremost - he’s able to lay down textures and vibes that can conjure emotional responses from artists and creators alike. He has developed a strong audience on instagram and having recently relocated to France, he continues to mine unexplored sonic territory, looking for sounds and melodies that are fresh, unique and most importantly feel right.

Máté
Máté
Máté is a new addition to the Kingsway family and the Los Angeles based producer has crafted a collection of samples that show off a real consciousness for music and sounds from a higher plain. Using strings, pianos, guitars, a mixture of analog and soft synths, along with experimental effects and techniques, each piece transports the listener to a different pocket of time with each track - sometimes reminiscent of gritty, buried music from the 20s and 30s, sometimes foretelling of futuristic sounds and tones.
While relatively new to the music scene, Máté’s approach is mature and thoughtful and his execution is impeccable. His first volume will serve as a strong entry into the library, and an exciting preview of what’s to come from him.

UNKWN
UNKWN
With the artist name UNKWN; it’s no surprise there is little to discover about the identity of this mysterious artist. What he doesn’t give away about his persona, he certainly shares with his intricate musical signature. Curiously experimental, UNKWN can be identified by his brooding yet incredibly powerful trap cuts.
It was UZ who first discovered his work on SoundCloud. After stumbling upon an unofficial remix of ‘Cavern,’ UNKWN was asked to take the track down – but the tune went on to inspire UZ’s ‘Megallan’ remix EP.
Collaborations in 2017 included tracks with Fabian Mazur, Maliboux and WIDE AWAKE, whilst UNKWN created another official remix for label boss UZ; this time for his ‘Layers’ LP.
The demand for this immensely talented artist stepped up a gear in 2018, with UNKWN producing official remixes for both Diplo and Zedd. He can count worldwide support from some of the biggest electronic DJs in the game, including Troyboi, Diplo, Zedd, Tiesto and Alison Wonderland.
With more original releases ready for release in 2020, the profile of the covert UNKWN is on the rise.
